This is a tenor guitar I built in Nov. 2024, at Berkshire Stringed Instruments in North Adams, MA, under the watchful eye of master luthier Nick Lenski.

Why a tenor guitar? Well, I already had a couple of 6-string guitars I really liked, and figured a tenor guitar would be a great addition to my arsenal. I wanted to make it in order to gain a deeper understanding of the theory and techniques of acoustic instrument construction.

The top is Engelmann Spruce, the back and sides are Black Walnut (w/ rosewood binding), the neck is mahogany and the fingerboard is ebony.

She sounds really sweet, with a loud, chimey tone — I would imagine it would be very well balanced alongside a dreadnaught 6-string.
